TCC uses multiple measures and informed self-placement to determine a student’s readiness for college-level English and math courses.

Determining College Readiness

As a new student, you can register for the English and math courses most appropriate to your program of study. To help you pick the proper classes complete one of the questionnaires below:

• Students who have graduated high school within 5 years should complete the following questionnaire for placement: Recent Graduate Questionnaire.
• Students graduated high school 6 years or more ago should complete the following questionnaire for placement: Informed Self-Placement.

After completing the questionnaire, you will be able to meet with an academic advisor. Your academic advisor will help you select the appropriate courses.
